As some of you may know, my one and only mumsicle extraordinaire was in Londontown for a quick trip. Unfortunately it coincided with one of the busiest times thus far in my current rotation at work, which meant that my vacation days were de-nied. Luckily (well, relatively), I managed to get two days out of the office – one working from home and the other working from my Blackberry! While mumsie was in town we managed to eat, shop and explore a bit more of the city, despite my hectic shhhhedule.
Here are some of our greatest hits.
Cookhouse Joe – fabulous Lebanese cuisine in Soho. Tube station: Tottenham Court Road.
Greenwich Market – Ethiopian, Sicilian, vegan, Thai and lots of other amazing fare. Personal favorites are the fresh watermelon juice and ‘free from’ brownies from The Real Baking Company. Tube station: Cutty Sark.
Golborne Road Market – food stalls and stands set up adjacent to Portobello Road. Tube station: Ladbroke Grove.
Fortnum & Mason: a fabulous place for formal afternoon tea or a quick scone and cuppa. Where to go to buy beautiful tea accessories AND personalise a handsome hamper full of goodies for your favorite stiletto-wearing blogger. Tube station: Green Park.
Till you drop
Selfridges: my personal Mecca. Not only is there a brow bar, cupcake bar, blow out bar, champagne bar AND nail bar but also, the shoe department is to.die.for. Tube station: Bond Street.
Portobello Road Market: antiques, clothes, odds and ends and even fruits and veg. A fun market worth the haul out to west London. Tube station: Ladbroke Grove.
Liberty: chic chic and not your ordinary department store – this place houses unique styles, objects and decor plus the building is b-e-a-utiful. Tube station: Oxford Circus.
Greenwich – known for its time and tea clipper, it is a fun neighborhood to wander around for an afternoon.
