White Wedding

The first stop on my crazy American itinerary this month was Washington D.C. for the wedding of the year. The stunning bride-to-be and her groom hosted one heck of a fabulous party weekend for those who traveled from near and far to celebrate with the happy couple and I feel so fortunate to have been a part of it all.

We kicked the weekend off at the Hamilton with a beautiful bridal luncheon for the bridal party, the mother of the groom, the mother of the bride and the gorgeous bride herself!

After a lovely lunch, giggles and bubbles, we ran around town to finish up errands with the bride before the rehearsal.

After a fun little run-through at the church, we headed to the Bistro d’Oc for a rehearsal dinner of sorts. Unlike most rehearsal dinners, this was an informal cocktail reception with lots of delicious canapes and a jaw-dropping cheese platter (hellooooo cheese!). The combination of wine and cheese led to even  more selfies… what a surprise.

We made it back to the hotel quite early (after a few selfies in front of Ford Theater), which was for the best because we were up up up early Saturday morning to get beautiful with the bride in her room.

Then it was off to chapel where our gorgeous girl walked down the aisle with her lovely dad, her husband to be was in awe,  she said I do, he said I do, they sealed the deal with a kiss and the bagpiper played them out of the church – absolutely amazing.

We got on the party bus – wife, husband, groomsmen, bridesmaids and the photographer – and headed to the Capitol where we took some fabulous pictures, gathered an entourage of tourists of the Asian persuasion, appointed an honorary bridesmaid from Egypt, and where the bride wowed everyone in sight.

Then it was back on the bus and off to the Jefferson Memorial (my fave!) for more pictures and wowing. After that we headed to the reception venue at the Meridian International Center  – right in the heart of D.C.

It was the most fabulous of evenings and the most wonderful of events – so happy to have shared the day with the bride and groom, their fantastic family and our closest friends.

Needless to say, the next day was spent a little like this…
