Theatre Week Continued

After our outstanding date night with Kevin Spacey we I decided to splurge on some super last-minute, cheap theatre seats over the Easter weekend. See Tickets advertised £20 tickets to a handful of West End hits over the long weekend so I booked us in for Cats on Friday night and Wicked on Monday night.

He looks surprisingly happy for someone dragged to a musical about cats.

Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.

Cats was entertaining but man oh man can you tell it premiered in the West End in the early 80s. The show has been running longer than I have been alive. The music, the staging, the costumes all scream “au revoir 70s, hello 80s!”. But I am not going to lie – I had some serious legging envy when it came to the Magical Mr. Mistoffelees.

Black, sparkly leggings - my fave.

Monday night, after a thrilling Easter day full of chocolate bunnies nachos and Season 2 of the Following (jealous much?), we made our way to Victoria for Wicked. It was like showing up at a birthday party for a 7 year old… too many children… everywhere. The music was fantastic, the story amusing and the characters love-able – really enjoyed Wicked! Don’t know if I would go out of my way to pay more than what we did for these theatre tickets but it was a fun way to tick a few West End/Broadway classics off our list!
