After a altogether too short 36 hours in Melbourne (most of which was spent outside of the city), we hopped a plane to Hobart (Tasmania).
We landed in Tassie, picked up the rental cars, had a drive around town, picked up another one of our besties from the airport and finally made it to our hotel in Hobart. We were staying at the Wrest Point Hotel and Casino for the whole five days in Tasmania. It was the most glorious, retro hotel and I was thrilled to be there for five days with some of my most favourite people in the world.
We reunited with a bunch of our other besties here – I felt so lucky to be in such a beautiful place with people I don’t get to see very often for such an extended period of time. We spent our days doing all sorts of fun things… beaches, vineyards, seafood on the docks, seal and dolphin sightings, wine by the bottle (and case), museums, wedding prep but most importantly, laughing.
The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart was very eclectic but really interesting. Small enough to get through in a couple hours, with a fantastic garden cafe and lots of unique art displays… some weirder than others. Probably best to leave the kids at home for this one (wall of lady bits… point, set, match).
And before we even knew it, it was the big day and we were all getting dolled up to celebrate our girl’s big day (cue more tears and laughter and hugs…). Separate post on the wedding to come!
