My first weekend back in London just happened to be a glorious four day Easter weekend and even though I was bummed that one of my latest and greatest besties was being forcibly removed (or so I would like to think) from the country, we decided to make a crazy fun (inevitably boozy and foodie) weekend out of it.
We started out with a standard touristy trip to Borough market (which is the best):
We purchased coffee and baked goods
Took a Shard selfie
Then headed for a walk along the River Thames…
Bubbles along the river
St Paul selfie
Silly London Eye selfie
Julie captured this classic… me on my phone… without pants…
So in return, I caught her in all of her glory!
We took more selfies
But actually asked someone to take a picture of us with Big Ben
This girl belongs in London
Big Ben and two blondes in black and white
We slowly made our way to a fabulously fabulous afternoon tea (so British) at the Rose Lounge at the Sofitel:
Cheeky smiles and champagne
This girl is my instagram bestie
Pastries on pastries
After our leisurely afternoon tea, we made our way home to rest before rallying the troops to go out for drinks in Soho.
We rally with popsicles in vodka and Rihanna.
No pictures were taken out at drinks but we got snacky at 2am and ended up at a Soho diner for our middle of the night meal of steak and eggs:
Heaven help us.
On Easter Sunday, we had divine brunch reservations at Chiltern Firehouse –
Chiltern Firehouse, again sans pants
Coffee before brunch
Bacon cornbread with chipotle butter
Outside the firehouse
Fried chicken, smoked mayonnaise, burrata and champagne cocktails
Eggs Royale and kissing pugs
Unicorn tears (or rhubarb granita)
Girly brunch pic (oh the fool who got most of the kitchen in the background)
Finishing up our drinks in the Firehouse
After brunch, we made our way to the hotel bar/reception area for another cocktail…
Cocktails and a roaring fire
Inside the English Garden
Sun so bright this star needed her sunnies
Gahhhh please come back!
Such a lush Easter Sunday – couldn’t have been happier.
On Monday, we ventured out to Notting Hill and Portobello Road.
Shall we buy the purple house or the red house? Either way, we shall paint it pink.
We are destined to be roomies… besties… soul mates…
That vest! EEK!
Lunch at Bluebird in Chelsea before the sun ran away
Sunnies, soup, cider and sass!
So sad to see this girl go… London won’t be the same. (But for real, either come back or I am moving to Austin…)
