Busy busy bee over the past few weeks!
First and foremost – y’all may have heard a little something in the news about Brexit (exasperated sigh here please). Since then, the pound has plummeted, waves of racial hate and xenophobic crime have skyrocketed and a lot of liberally-minded, Europe-loving, finance-working Londoners have started exploring options elsewhere. While it is way, way, way too early to make any rash moves… there are a few options a brewin’… stay tuned. (In other words, I am trying to figure out my life so really, what’s new?)
Nothing says Pride 2016 like a fab wedding with one of my favourite people and colleagues
Plus, any wedding where I get to wear white and not offend is ah-mazing
The grooms let me plan the after party at Ekcovision… which was a success!
We take lawyering very, very seriously
Catching up with one of the Paris grad school crew in London! (I am coming to Marrakesh… get ready)
Taking the train to Wolverhampton for another fabulous wedding.
The most beautiful bride
We henna’ed all night long
It was perfect for the client meetings I had the next day.
We danced with baskets on our head
…. and took end of the night lift selfies.
London was looking pretty lush – blue skies for days (literally only like three days… otherwise it rained)
Had the firm’s summer party which was music-festival themed.
A good time was had by all.
flower crowns and kissy faces
Bestie and I went to Beyonce at Wembley…
and managed to find my flatmate and her friend who were on the dancefloor as well.
Blue skies and Queen Bey
She was absolutely amazing
4th of July was spent celebrating my American origin’s independence from my British origins… red white and blue, thank you very much!
So I ate freedom cupcakes and worked in an American law firm in London…hmpf.
I might have worn festive sunglasses all week long in the office… just in case anyone forgot I am, first and foremost, an American.
My flatmate and I hosted a UK vs US themed housewarming 4th of July BBQ on the 9th of July (’cause no one gives us the day off here…)
Everyone had the appropriate eye-wear for the occasion.
When the sparklers came out, so did my game face.
Mexican beer, American sunglasses, tank top that says “Let’s get star spangled hammered” and sparklers – all made in China. ‘Merica.
Sunset on the roof with sparklers
Flatmate dance party
The Americans took the occasion very seriously.
Hillary served lethal jell-o shots to Prince Harry while Trump leered in the background… it was an epic party.
And no good update would be without a picture of brunch… avocado toast at the Elk in the Woods.
And after all of this, I still managed to hit my billable hour target for the month (I know you were worried I was just off having fun and not working… false).
Oh, and I spent last weekend in Paris…. but that deserves a whole other post… tee hee!
